Second Hand Catering Equipment Cheap and Eco Friendly

November 5th, 2010

The worldwide economic recession is now hitting home to many people. Although we have been talking about the recession for many months it only now seems to have started to effect our everyday lives. Be it your benefits being cut, your local amenities being reduced, closed or even worst being threatened with redundancies or loosing your job. If you are affected by any of these you should look at it as an opportunity rather than a disaster. One such example is a friend of mine who recently decide to start up a catering business part time. We all have a small business inside us and sometimes the threat of leaner times is that push that puts us on the road of starting out and creating our own business. Although their not looking to make a million, large oak trees grow from small acorns.

As with all small business start ups money and budgets were very tight but they needed some industrial catering equipment to get them going. This is where I suggested they use the internet and consider second hand catering equipment.

There are normally two types of second hand catering equipment for sale that is B grade or reconditioned catering equipment:

B Grade Catering Equipment

Is normally old model equipment or ex demonstration models that maybe slightly marked and cannot be sold as new.

Reconditioned Catering Equipment

Would have previously been used but no longer required due to change of ownership or no longer required because the layout of the kitchen has been redesigned. Either way this equipment can be hygienically and  professionally restored to an almost new condition.

How Long Will Second Hand Catering Equipment Last?

Most professional catering equipment can last many years however is often moved or removed before its lifetime is reached. This actually makes second hand catering equipment very ecologically friendly as you are recycling equipment rather than purchasing new.

However the best reason for looking for a second hand catering equipment sale is the amount of money you could save. Although it may not look as new when you first buy it even new catering equipment soon loose that new lustre and you will be happy when you have saved yourself a few thousand. Fortunately my friend took my advice and soon found just what they were looking for and saved them selves a pretty penny too.
